The male perspective on weddings.
As this is one of the first things to get sorted it is likely that you have our attention and interest. We want to have a great party and celebration, so this is something that you will be able to keep us entertained with. Generally we have an instant feeling as to whether a venue is right or not. If we don’t like the place upon initial inspection, chances are you won’t change our opinion. We are stubborn creatures who are set in our ways and hate to admit we are wrong. This is what you are fighting against, so just give up quickly and move on if you want to maintain our attention.
Our experience started by looking in two countries! Talk about a wide search field!
We quickly found that in Australia as soon as you even mutter the word wedding then the price is doubled. The costs seemed absolutely out of reach and we finally just decided that it would better for all concerned if we decided to get married at home.
As I said previously, after many places which were quickly discounted through either sheer ugliness or unsuitability, we walked into our future venue and I knew straight away that it was right. It has a nice Mediterranean style courtyard which is a perfect fit for us and it also had a barn which my partner wanted.
I am a firm believer in first impressions and this is one of those moments where you need to exercise this particular muscle.
